TEAM

Check out this new track Lorde recently released while on tour in Paris. The description she includes with the track reads “i am in paris as i release this. every street we drive down makes my eyes pop with the most incredible things carved in stone, and gilded on pillars, and wrought with metal; the heroes and heroines of this city aren’t so hard to find. this song’s are a little more mismatched, less classic courtesans on their pedestals, but nonetheless brilliant. this song is kinda of that world, and at the same time, very much of this one. enjoy.”

I’m pretty sure she can do no wrong.

Shout out to indie88 for bringing this song to my attention, and just in general for gracing the Toronto airwaves with some exceptional music.

ARCADE FIRE – REFLEKTOR

Arcade Fire, we love you and we’ve missed you. IRV has been counting down the days until 9/9/9 Reflektor released date and these guys did not disappoint. This modern day disco track is creating a need for a dance party but you know you are going to have some bumping beats when Bowie is on guest vocals… All I ask is that you play a show in Toronto soon, but I will come to Montreal if you make me…

Album drops Oct 29th.

TUNE TUESDAYS: VALENTINA

I can’t get enough of female indie singers these days. This song has an awesome vibe, and the video has a good dose of weird which I love. Happy listening IRVers!

BETTER DAYS.

Check out the recently released “Better Days” from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s upcoming self-titled third album, due out July 23rd. Being in a bad mood after listing to them = virtually impossible. Happy Monday listening IRVers!

YEAH YEAH YEAHS, YEAH?

Last night I checked out the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Echo Beach. What an unreal show that included a giant eyeball being thrown out into the crowd. An awesome way to ring in Canada’s birthday. In fairness, I hadn’t listened to the band in awhile when I bought my ticket, but the show has definitely reminded me how sick a band they are. Give their new single “Despair” a listen.
