It’s very clear that the city of Toronto is obsessed with the hamburger. Granted, nothing else really compares to the satisfaction of eating a juicy burg topped with The Option (Priest fans you know wa’ I’m talking about) or a anything off the menu at Holy Chuck but another shop has opened up on Queen West and it has grabbed this Hamburgeller’s attention. During a menu tasting at Parts and Labour in Parkdale yesterday, we were informed of their new burger shop opening that will be some stiff competition to the other hot spots in the area. Under the same management as P&L, this malt shop is set up for success and with a minimalist menu in which they promise to do a few things really, really well. I’m really looking forward to trying this place out when it opens in a couple of days!

Last year was our first year attending the notorious food & wine expo held at the MTCC and it was quite a fun experience. It was great to try some new things; different wines pairings, some tasty grub and we even got to meet Matt and Steve, the founders of those delicious spicy beans! We could not hold back when we saw the Fireball station and spent more tickets than I would like to remember, meanwhile trying to make best friends with the promo girls for more Fireball swag (we wore it proud!). All in all, fun night, expect to drop a minimum of $50 if you want the full experience but keep in mind not to go with a big group because it is craayy busy. Cheers!
It’s 9:52 in the morning and I’ve already listened to this song 4 times…
Drizzy Drake, I’m a good girl and I know itttt, you know exactly who I could be.
Once is a while you get lucky to stumble upon a truly delightful shop that results in fighting strong urges to purchase everything in the store. Ladies (and loving boyfriends), Anice Jewellery in Kensignton Market just so happens to be our latest obsession where you can find unique, hand crafted pieces sure to melt the heart of someone special.
As soon as you walk into this store, owner/designer/creator of all things beautiful Brittany Hopkins, makes you feel right at home. With a punch of vintage and a whole lot of girly, you can pick up a variety of neckless, rings and brackets ranging from many price points (and I promise there will be something to fit every budget). If you are feeling crafty, Brittany also offers a consulting service where you can design your own custom piece and include trinkets and tokens from good times past. I myself, picked up a neckless with my initial hand stamped right on-site.
The holidays are fast approaching and I can almost guarantee you can find something special for any lady on your list, so do yourself a favour an go check it out.
….and follow our new motto:
– Eat cereal for dinner and buy more jewellery.
Moved into new house at College and Ossington, let the party begin.
There is not a doubt in my mind that I would be completely happy wearing all black every day for the rest of my life. In my mind, its just the most practical and functional colour out there. I do however, take grief daily form my coworkers for the lack of colour in my wardrobe, and yes I admit that for someone with as bubbly a personality as mine, it seems a little odd. On that note, I would like to draw everyone’s attention to a recent style piece on blogTO titled “Shades of Black” – an article about how WEARING ALL BLACK IS IN THIS SEASON.
Looks like I was just ahead of the fashion curve (for once in my life). Take that!
All I have to say it, no one ever said “I can’t believe she wore black”
Although today is not your typical fall day, it still doesn’t fix my fashion dilemma… the lack of a staple fall jacket. I am in desperate need of a nice jacket that I can wear out, to work, wear on top of a blazer, that keeps me warm, that is also slightly water proof and that is under $300… is that too much to ask? I’m on the hunt for this unicorn jacket and I’m hoping that my longstanding favourite coat company Mackage will step up to the challenge. I would be proud to boast any of these jackets as I am gaga for their bold zippers, large collars and sexci leather tailoring that create an instant BABE silhouette, and take any outfit from zero to hero, 1-second flat. This MTL based company knows whats up and thats why they can charge one months rent for one of their beautiful designs. Am I willing to make the investment? Yes. Just please find me so I can stop wearing my army cargo jacket to work that soaks up rain like a dish sponge.
Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated in advance!
